Remembering Kyle . . . my snowy-faced buddy

These pictures were taken the first year we moved to this house and the first winter after we went to Florida to get our Scotties, Kyle and Morgan.
We enjoyed watching these southern bred Scotties checking out this crisp, deep snow. The cats ventured out in the dogs tracks after they realized the Scots weren't frightened at all. In fact, they took to it like little penguins and had a severe case of skirt "ice balls" that had to be removed with the aid of a blow dryer.
In Kyle's case, he showed us exactly how much he liked it by jumping in a juniper bush head first! The photo above is the end result of that adventure.
Miss these dogs. At Christmas and always.

My Beautiful Bonnie . . . Gone

Bonnie Sue . . . the girl who would follow me anywhere.

I fear that this blog is in danger of becoming nothing more than a Memorial Site for dogs we have loved and have lost, but sometimes, life takes a long turn for things we dread. All we can do is try and make sense of the realities we are left with and celebrate whatever good we can remember. This blog helps me to do that.

Since my last writing, I lost my beloved Bonnie. I'm not quite ready to write in detail about it except to say that it was sudden and unexpected and apparently not related to her steroid protocol. We had a necropsy performed on Bonnie and while I have the preliminary results, I will write more about my girl when I have the final report in my hand. It does no good to remember the sad things, but if anything I can tell you about Bonnie would be helpful to other dog or Scottie owners, then I am prepared to oblige.

Until I see you again, sweet memories are ours, Bonnie Sue.
