When we started talking about what to name the new Scottie coming to live with us, it kept coming up that she was the daughter of Charlie Bear Pants and Bonnie Sue (who we called Mrs. Pants). The whole "pants" thing was a nickname my husband, P, came up with, and like many of his funny nicknames, it stuck.
We went round and round about what to call the new girlie, Bender's sister, and Bonnie and Charlie's offspring, and one day I just said "Francie Pants," and it stuck.
Her sweet and tender brown eyes remind me of a Francie Barbie Doll I had in the late 1960s and early 70s, so that was another reason that Francie fit her so well.
The first pics of her are when I picked her up from the breeder, and you can see she has some large bald spots. He said she came to him like that and I found out from the lady who owned her before that, she's always had problems with baldness. She felt it was due to the food she had been fed, but testing showed that Francie was hypothyroid and suffered from the same adrenal exhaustion syndrome as her mother, Bonnie (see earlier posts). She's being maintained on two meds, one for her hypothyroidism and the other a small dose of medrol (steroid) for her adrenal exhaustion syndrome. She looks great and her coat has filled in, as you can see from the later pics.
She had at least five different homes before she came to us. But I can promise you this, she's with us to stay.
I tell her everyday: "You're Home Little Francie Pants, You're Home!"
